Frequently asked questions
- What does it cost to sell a house in Texas?
- Your mortgage payoff, negotiated commissions, the owner's title policy (customarily paid by Texas sellers), prorated property taxes, and any credits you agree to give the buyer. Ask your agent for a net sheet with real numbers before you set a price.
- Do I have to fill out a Seller's Disclosure in Texas?
- Most Texas home sellers are required to give buyers a Seller's Disclosure Notice. Fill it out honestly and completely. It protects you as much as the buyer.
- Should I make repairs before I list?
- Fix what leaks, sticks or doesn't work, and freshen worn paint. Skip big remodels. Buyers rarely pay back the full cost, and many want to make those choices themselves.
